Over the weekend of 19th/21st April a successful weekend of social ringing was held in Kilmersdon, Somerset, the home village of the late Mike Pomeroy. Many ringers from both Ireland and England met in Kilmersdon to renew old friendships, make news ones, to ring bells, to socialise and to remember our friend Mike.
All was accomplished! A quarter peal was rung in Ston Easton, Somerset the church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 38 minutes. We rang in small villages towers and large city towers (Wells!); R&CC to Grandsire Caters to Cambridge; 1st time tourers made huge progress, and we caught-up with Mike’s sister Lyn, and extended family.
Really Big Thank You to Matthew, who not only helped with tower and pub selections, but showed us around his workshop – a fantastic experience.
The Web site committee will meet on Wednesday, 29th May 2024. Please share any upcoming tower or district dates that you wish to be publicised to –webmaster@bellringingireland.org
