Reminder Sat 27th May is IACR AGM, and Murphy Cup competition. Venue is St Canice’s Cathedral, Kilkenny.
Annual General Meeting is in chapter room at 11.30am, and Murphy Cup draw at 2.45pm.
Murphy Cup participants are :

  • Eastern District – St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Christ Church, Taney
  • Northern District – St. Malachy, Hillsborough and St Comgall, Bangor
  • Southern District – St. Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick.

A quarter peal of 1260 Plain Bob Doubles was rung this afternoon in St Donard, Bloomfield in 43 minutes – To commemorate Coronation of King Charles III

Ringing for the Coronation also took place at St Mary’s , Kilmood yesterday before the coronation and again afterwards in celebration.

Also, Coleraine bellringers at St. Patricks Church mark the occasion of the coronation of HM King Charles III.

Update 6th May 2023

Ringing for the  King Celebrations took place this morning in St Mark’s, Dundela, Belfast and St Donard’s, Belfast to mark the Coronation of King Charles III.  For picutre’s of the event please click on this link.

An hours of ringing took place this morning at Royal Hillsborough to celebrate the coronation of HM The King. There is an explanation for the tower captain’s outfit! Another hour this evening.

Drumbo rang for the King Charles III this afternoon, ringing rounds and call changes for 1 hour and  joined by a visitor from Dublin, who was very welcome.

The Executive Council Meeting and Murphy Cup Competition for 2023 will be on Saturday 27th May 2023 and will take place in St Canice’s Cathedral Kilkenny. Annual General Meeting in chapter room at 11.30am, and Murphy Cup at 2.45pm.

Southern District – Kilkenny, St Canice’s Cathedral on Saturday 20th May 2023 @ 15.00

Northern District – St Saviour, Greyabbey – Saturday 3rd June 2023 @ 14.00

Eastern District – St Audeon, Dublin – Saturday 8th June 2023 @ 14.00

Advance date for your diaries – Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd October 2023, when the Association will be celebrating its 125th Anniversary.   This will be the weekend of the Association Ringing Festival hosted by the Eastern District. A special celebratory Service will be held in St Patrick’s Cathedral to coincide with the Anniversary, on the 22nd October.

To celebrate the IACR 125th anniversary, 2 items are now available, for sale. A new lapel pin at €2.50/£2.00 (see sample here); and a large umbrella for €30/£26 (see sample here).
