The Boyne Cup

St. Peter’s Church of Ireland Guild of Bellringers is extending an invitation to all towers to compete in a change ringing striking contest to take place in St. Peter’s Church Drogheda on Saturday 3rd February 2024 at 14.00.

  • The event is intended to take place annually thereafter.
  • The purpose is to encourage well-struck change ringing on the island of Ireland. For 2024 the minimum requirement will be plain hunt. More advanced teams may ring what they do best.
  • Each team should comprise regular Sunday ringers at a particular tower.
  • Teams wishing to take part please contact the Honorary Secretary of St. Peter’s Bellringers at lizmanville16@gmail.com

Further information:  Teams coming from 8 bell towers should ring 8. Those from 6 bell towers can ring whichever 6 they prefer; front or back.  As this is the inaugural Boyne Cup event rules will be flexible. However, we will insist on change ringing, no call changes allowed. Teams are welcome to join our Wednesday practices to familiarise themselves with our bells.
