St Johns Newcastle Update:
St John’s Newcastle 6 bells have now been refurbished
with the addition of unusual stays unlike any others. The first ring was on Saturday 26th July and there is 8 eager new learners. Apparently there’s also two previous ringers from some 30 + years ago. They received an introduction to bell ringing chat by Stephanie (Northern District Ringing Master) and together their first lessons on the bells. The plan is now for them to chose which towers are available to receive further instructions. Some of the new Newcastle ringers joined Hillsborough ringers on Tuesday 29th July 2025 for a very busy and productive evening. Hopefully it won’t be long before Newcastle bells sound out across Newcastle from a delightful setting.
Eastern District Practice on Saturday 9th August Update:
Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin will also be hosting the Taylor Cup. Practice will be 2-3pm, then Taylor Cup from 3-4pm. Also some general ringing will be available from 12.30-1.30pm
Tower Updates:
July and August are the “holiday” months. Not only do we all escape from our daily lives for a refreshing break, so do so many other people; and some of them include visiting ringing bands from (usually) the UK. So, as an exercise please check your tower contact details are up to date and working. Visiting ringers are always welcome, so please ensure they can contact you!
