George Roberts remembered - Cork, June 2022

Over the weekend of 18th/19th June 2022 many ringers enjoyed a ringing weekend in Cork – and to remember our sadly-missed very good friend and colleague, George Roberts.

Apart from remembering George, it gave us all the first opportunity to meet socially in over 2 years and well, just ring again.

There was, as they say “something for everyone” over the 2 days – progress in Grandsire Doubles for some, ringing rounds on 12 for others, some “new” towers for more. Even a couple of courses of Stedman were heard. But best of all was meeting up as a group again, the cuppa, the chat and the banter – Long may it be so!
For the record, we rang in St. Mary’s Doneraile; St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral, Cork; St. Mary’s Dunmanway; and St. Fachtna Cathedral, Rosscarbery.

At the 2022 IACR AGM Honorary Life Membership of the IACR was been bestowed on Don McLean and Mike Pomeroy – two very worthy recipients of the highest honour the IACR can confer. Sincere Congratulations to both on this well-deserved accolade.
